"Welcome....WooHaHaHa!"...In the final year of study at university, an assignment brief was given to create a working game level using a plugin for 3DS Max known as "RTRE". The assignment title was "Haunted Mansion" and had to include at least ten events.
And so, in "Ghost Hunter", the player is sent to investigate a seemingly normal house in the middle of the countryside. However, upon opening the porch door, the player realises things aren't quite what they seem as a paranormal event has turned the area into a sanctuarary for a bitter, evil spirit who was betrayed in his life and is now in a permanent state of unrest. Can the player explore his mansion and escape alive...??
"Ghost Hunter" was worked on in conjunction with a few other final year projects and was finished within the space of approximately six months, full-time. This project demonstrates modelling and texturing for an in-game scenario and, although about 3% of it is incomplete, provides a large, detailed environment to keep the player interested.
The link below provides the opportunity to download "Ghost Hunter" and play it for yourself as a stand-alone demo. However, please be aware that the demo's performance will be determined by the graphics card of your machine. A map of the mansion has also been included in the downloadable file below to help you navigate the level.
